If you are over 18, the Introduction to climbing course is the first step in learning to climbing. You will cover the basics of top rope climbing, autobelays and bouldering. Each session is a mixture of instruction and lots of chance to climb and use the new skills you are learning. Once you are competent in the basic safety skills you can join the Club as a member. We recommend a series of four sessions to give you the time to consolidate your learning under supervision before starting out on your own.
We offer both single sessions and a full 4 session course. Please make sure you check the dates of the 4 session course before making your booking, this can be found below by selecting “Information and Booking”.
1:1 Induction

Never climbed before? Want to be able to climb safely and independantly? Our Boulder and Autobelay Inductions are a great way to get started quickly at a time that suits you.
At the end of your induction, you should be able to register for Bouldering and Autobelays unsupervised. If you still don’t feel ready, you can either book another 1:1 session or an Introduction to Climbing session to consolidate the skills.
Learn to Lead Climb
Ages 18+

Feeling ready to take on the challenge of lead climbing. The learn to lead courses are designed to prepare you safely and at a speed that suits you. You must be over 18 to book on one of these courses.
Lead climbing is when you must clip the rope as you climb in order to protect you when you fall. It offers additional physical and mental challenges and allows you to climb steeper and more exciting ground. We have different options to suit you for our Lead Climbing course, select the one that works for you below.
