Becoming a Member

The Foundry Mountaineering Club is an associate member of the British Mountaineering Council. The club is run by the members for the members. Membership is open to anyone interested in climbing or mountaineering regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or any other beliefs except as a necessary consequence of the requirements of climbing or mountaineering

To climb & mountaineer safely, as well as use the club facilities, you will need to have the skills and knowledge to ensure you can participate in the activity without hurting/endangering yourself or others. Therefore, the club requires members to read and sign up to the club’s “Membership Rules and Conditions of Use” and we ask that you recognise the BMC's Participation Statement.

The BMC Participation Statement
“The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.”
