Membership Terms and Conditions
Below are the terms and conditions that govern timed memberships purchased by members of The Foundry Mountaineering Club.
The types of membership are:
Pre-Paid Memberships
12 months (single one-off payment)
6 months (single one-off payment)
3 months (single one-of payment)
1 day’s membership (Paid on the day of a visit. A member can climb on the day of purchase only. A day member has membership rights for a 30 period from the date of purchase).
Monthly Memberships
1 month (Monthly direct debit)
All memberships described above, excluding the 1-day membership, allow unlimited climbing, during opening hours. There are no time restrictions (Peak or Off-Peak), or limit to the number of visits in a week, month or year the member can make.
A member must agree to follow the Club’s Conditions of Use. The Club can terminate a member’s membership under circumstances outlined in The Club’s Constitution. A copy of the Constitution is available on request. A member must inform us if their personal details change so we can keep accurate records.
A Pre-Paid Timed Membership:
A three, six or twelve month membership runs from the date purchased for the allotted time span.
Memberships can only be frozen under exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the club’s management.
Refunds on these membership types are not given.
A membership cannot be transferred to another member.
Monthly direct debit (GoCardless) memberships:
The Club has a rolling 1 month direct debit membership scheme. Money is taken from the member on the same date each month by GoCardless. Once the first payment is taken, the member who owns the membership can cancel at anytime by contacting their bank or contacting the club via email at no extra charge. The last day the membership can run will be from the last charge date +30 days.
If payment cannot be taken for any reason, GoCardless will inform the club and attempt to take the money again at a later date. If the second attempt fails then the club will contact the member directly to inform them that payment could not be taken and so their membership will be cancelled and a charge for entries taken within the time period will be incurred.

COVID-19 exemptions or similar
In the case that The Foundry Climbing Centre is forced to close by the Government, the Club will freeze all timed memberships on the day it is told to close. The membership will start to elapse again from the day that the Club is permitted to reopen. The original period of the contract will be extended by the same duration the club was forced to close, to allow the remaining time of the contract to be accommodated.
GoCardless memberships will be cancelled by the Club on the day of closure. Monies will not be refunded by the Club to the member.
